Interview With A Tattooed Person

My cousin Erin, was also willing to answer some questions about her tats.
Q:  When did you get your first tattoo?
ERIN:   I got my first tattoo when I was 15 in my friend's basement with a

homemade gun. My first professional tattoo was also when I was 15.  I was

friends with a guy that worked in a shop.
Q:  How many tattoos do you have?
ERIN:  I technically have 7, but one was covered with a different one so...7

tattoos but been tattooed 8 times. (laughs)
Q:  Have you had any bad side effects due to your tattoos?
ERIN:  I never had any really bad side effects, but the color in one of them

never held very well, even after a touch up, and another one feels "raised up"

sometimes and gets itchy.
Q:  Do you regret getting tattooed?
ERIN:  I don't regret getting any of them because they were all something I

liked at the time, but a few of them I wouldn't mind covering with something

else.
Q:  Do you still like all your tattoos?
ERIN:  As far as liking them, again...I liked them all when I got them, but some

of them I don't really like anymore.
Q:  Did you do any research before getting your tattoos?
ERIN:  I never did any actual research about anything before getting a tattoo,

but I would ask people's opinions of the shop I had in mind, and I would

usually see photos of the artist’s previous work.
Q:  Where do you think is the most painful area to get tattooed?
ERIN:  In my experience the most painful place is anywhere near or on a

bone.
